The Georgia Department of Human Resources Division of Public Health manages birth records for the entire state. Birth records are available from 1919 to present. Birth records may only be accessed by the registrant, spouse, immediate family members, and authorized legal representatives. Requests for vital records must be made in person or via mail.

Georgia Birth Records Georgia attempted to require registration of births, marriages, and deaths on a county level in 1875, but the law was repealed in 1876. Some vital records for fourteen Georgia counties for 1875 have been microfilmed and are available at the Georgia Department of Archives and History (see Archives, Libraries, and Societies).
